The training was held at St. Johns County River College in Orange Park, Florida. 21 counties in the state of Florida were represented at the meeting.

At the training students took part in interesting and valuable sessions about Point of Sale Advertising, Tobacco 101, Facilitating a SWAT meeting, E-Cigarettes, and the Taste That Campaign. The information will allow SWAT students to educate other SWAT students and youth in their own communities.

One of the main purposes of the Regional Training was to elect new members onto the Youth Advocacy Board (YAB). YAB members are elected by their peers to keep SWAT moving in the right direction throughout the entire state of Florida. The Youth Advocacy Board works in collaboration with the Florida Department Tobacco Free Florida to establish the course and extent of both the SWAT organization and the youth tobacco prevention portion of the statewide media campaign.
