TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR PREMIERE OF ‘2013: WHEN HISTORY WAS MADE’

11 July 2023

A limited number of tickets for the premiere of the ‘2013: When History was Made’ feature-length documentary - at the Pictureville cinema, Bradford, on Monday July 24 - are now available, via the club’s official ticketing website

This month will see the maiden screening of City’s first-ever in-house documentary production, which looks back on a historic 2012/13 campaign on its 10th anniversary.

You can now secure your place at the premiere, which will be held at the Pictureville cinema inside Bradford’s Science and Media Museum, on Monday July 24, for just £10 (+£1.50 online booking fee) - by CLICKING HERE or visiting the Valley Parade Ticket Office.

Only 250 tickets are available for this one-off event, on an unreserved basis inside the cinema, so supporters are therefore advised to secure their place as early as possible, in order to avoid disappointment.

Featuring in-depth interviews with the likes of then-manager Phil Parkinson and assistant Steve Parkin, captain Gary Jones, and key players including Rory McArdle, James Hanson, Nahki Wells and more, the documentary tells the story of an unforgettable, history-making season.

It recounts key moments from throughout the season, including a section on each round of the League Cup campaign, leading to the Bantams becoming only the second-ever fourth-tier side to reach the final.

The documentary then goes on to review the final few months of the EFL League Two term, where City surged towards the play-offs, eventually securing promotion to EFL League One with a 3-0 victory over Northampton Town, on their second visit to Wembley Stadium in just three months.

On the evening, doors to the Pictureville will open at 7.00pm, with an exclusive bar area serving drinks and snacks inside. The film screening will begin at 8.00pm, with the bar remaining open until 11.00pm.

City’s director of brand, marketing and media, Luke Flacks, said: “As a media and marketing department, we pride ourselves on telling the story of Bradford City in different ways, and the 10th anniversary of that remarkable 2012/13 season has given us the opportunity to produce this special feature-length production.

“Being the club’s first-ever in-house documentary, we were keen to showcase it on the big screen in the world’s first UNESCO city of film, and we are delighted that the iconic Pictureville cinema in the Science and Media Museum has been able to accommodate us. We are excited to see the first showing here, before it is seen anywhere else.

“A huge thanks goes to our brilliant in-house media team, as well as club freelance videographer, Andy Taylor, Bantams Banter’s Tom Fletcher and Dom Newton and The Athletic journalist and City supporter Katie Whyatt for their help and tireless efforts throughout the creation of this production, to bring a unique story to life.

“The film promises to bring back some special memories for City supporters, and we are looking forward to seeing you at the Pictureville cinema later this month, where we will also be joined by a few of the stars, to see it for the first time.”
