Harry Chapman expressed his delight at being back amongst the goals, as City secured a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Sutton United.

City’s No.20 felt great about the Bantams’ controlled performance, but was personally relieved to have netted his second goal in claret and amber.

“I feel great,” he said.

“We came out with a gameplan, and executed it well.

“It was a bit disappointing to concede at the end - we wished we could round off the game better.

“We have got to look at the positives, and carry on moving forward.

“It felt really nice (to be back among goals).

“It has been a very long time, but it shows what I have been working on during the week. I am glad I have been able to put it to practice.

“I enjoyed the atmosphere and I am glad we got across the line in the end. The main aim was to get the three points, so we are all very thankful.”

The former Blackburn Rovers winger reflected on how crucial it was to to edge in front early, as it allowed City to dominate proceedings against the U’s.

Chapman is aiming to take the confidence built in yesterday’s dominant display, and called on his teammates to avoid complacency ahead of the trip to Rochdale on Saturday.

“Getting the first goal is so important, but playing well after that is just as crucial,” he added.

“We got the first goal against Grimsby and found ourselves behind.

“Thankfully, we were allowed to control, and we used their penalty miss in this game to our advantage.

“Rochdale is a massive game for two reasons - they are fighting for their lives and we are fighting for promotion.

“We have got to go into that game knowing it will not be easy and avoiding complacency.

“Every game is a tough game, but we know our worth, and we will all work for those three points.”
